Samsung Electronics has raised its DRAM prices by an average of 30% for the second quarter of 2026, building on a staggering 100% increase in Q1. The hikes apply across high-bandwidth memory (HBM) for AI servers as well as standard DRAM used in PCs, smartphones, and other devices, driven by sustained strong demand and tight supply. This move directly counters recent speculation of a broader DRAM price collapse, which stemmed mainly from temporary spot-market dips due to inventory clearance rather than any fundamental market shift. Competitors SK Hynix and Micron are widely expected to implement similar increases, potentially pushing up costs for end products where DRAM already forms a significant portion of the bill of materials. Industry analysts warn that these continued rises could further elevate prices for consumer electronics and data center hardware throughout 2026.
