Telegram's core t.me domain has been placed on serverHold status by the .me registry operator, instantly removing it from global DNS and breaking every t.me link.

The registry-level suspension occurred today with no official explanation from Telegram, Identity Digital, or Montenegrin authorities behind the .me domain.

Domain records now show serverHold alongside clientDeleteProhibited and other restrictions, while the domain itself remains registered until 2035.

The Telegram mobile app continues working normally, but web access to channels, groups, usernames, and shared links is completely dead-ended for users worldwide.

This sudden move highlights the fragility of relying on a single short domain for global communication infrastructure.
